BDR aims to finish the season with a rattle.

It's been a while since the last update, and our horses have been running well and hitting the frame.

It was really good to get Ebselysees (above) out in a Mares Open National Hunt Flat Race, March 17th Huntingdon, ridden by Robbie Dunne and our first runner with Blewbury trainer Noel Williams, I first met Noel at Windsor races years ago with a horse called Kings Troop which was my first ever share under the late great Henry Ponsonby.  Ebselysees or Spud to her friends is a leased filly from Bob Russell who owns the Blythe Stud in the midlands. She went to Noel last June as a 4yo who had been backed but had done little in the way of work.  This very well bred daughter of Champs Elysees is out of a former Aga Khan mare and half sister to some decent animals, her super patient members had a great day in a deep enough race as she came over the line beaten just 5 1/2 lengths to 4th, on the nod for 3rd on ground she didn't like and going around the houses. It was a really promising run and we are super excited about her she may well have another spin in May before a season of Novice Hurdling, great craic with Noel and his staff we are really enjoying being involved at Churn Stables.

Members of Spud enjoying a swift one after the fun of watching their filly debut on Paddy's Day with trainer Noel Williams. A filly with plenty of potential.

Billy Boi Blue who scored in fine style at Hereford for his owners had a second place finish at Wetherby, just being touched off by a 129 rated Olly Murphy gelding,  RPR rated that as his best run to date and it was some more prize money earned Billy hasn't been out of the winners enclosure this season with figure of 4-2-1-2 one of them was a 50-1 second too, lovely, considering our lad split two horses costing a combined 330k to which we were a 20k store you can understand how delighted we all are, Billy holds entries for Southwell next Tuesday 23rd April in a 0-120 Handicap and also in a Listed Novice at Perth, that is a 25k race which would be a pot of gold at the end of the 8 hr drive (from Norfolk) rainbow. 17 are entered for the 24f Perth race and 5 are from Willie Mullins who is adding another dimension now leading the UK trainers championship after saddling up I AM MAXIMUS to Aintree Grand National glory.

Owners & members enjoyed a splendid morning in the company of David Killahena of K&M Racing, they are getting plenty of winners including the impressive 5 timer SUNDAY SOLDIER winning again at Musselburgh. Well done to all connections. We enjoyed a super morning watching 3 BDR horses Billy and 2  unraced youngsters, a 4yo by Wings of Eagles and a 3 yo by Ulysess out of a Sea the Stars mare. The Wings of Eagles really caught the eye and we are very excited about him a clean winded, correct gelding who hasn't been off the bridle yet, he could debut next month or we wait and go after the summer break, he qualifies for the 100k Goffs Bumper, someone has to win may as well be us.........I enjoy buying value stores the cost of some of these pointers in the after race boutique sales is staggering.

We said a fond farewell to 2 stalwarts of our syndicate Hillfinch (above getting her head in front) who won 3 times and won what she cost this gutsy mare got her owners in the winners enclosure a further 7 times in her career, being placed to in a listed event, she was sold internally for a members daughter who will event with her. We will follow her new career with interest and wish her luck in her new home. Thanks to Stuart Edmunds and his team.

Another who has been retired is Annie Day, this winning pointer scored twice under rules for her energetic members and bowed out in fine style in a Mares Chase on a bouncing Bank Holiday card at Huntingdon, The crowd was huge and the buzz at this Cambridgeshire track was fantastic, Annie came 3rd and went out on her terms, she is being retrained and will be paired up to a suitable owner shortly. Thanks to Ben Case and his Wardington gate team.

Really proud that all of our ex racers we can trace, means a lot to us as a group and says even more about the BDR syndicate. We even have a pension for our horses to help with rehoming.

We seem to have a season ticket at Huntingdon and the Olly Murphy trained BDR horse BITSNBUCKLES who won in fine style there earlier this year holds multiple entries for his owners, he may well go to Perth in a 0-105 Novice Handicap over 20f.  It is really exciting as we are involved with a yard who is on the verge of passing 100 winners for the first time whilst Olly is supporting stable jockey Sean Bowen who is second in the jockey title. Fingers crossed we can go to Perth for their opening fixture, Perth has had a torrid time with the weather and has had a whopping 800 ml since their last fixture. incredible.

Our pre-trainer Hannah Lewis is getting some work into a lovely Yeats 3 yo and our colt foal Boy George continues to grow, eat repeat with his chums in a field at Hannah's. He is by Order of st George out of a former BDR mare Josie Abbing who is own family to Bellshill very exciting......one share remains

BDR is a really welcoming and friendly group where members share collectively the thrills and spills of National Hunt racing, We continue to have success and are delighted that the stock is progressively improving as our support grows, not only do we get new owners we have kept nearly all founder/early members.

To everyone who has supported the colours we salute you.

Before I sign off just a quick one and well done to the members who listened to our trainers on their Cheltenham Festival fancies last month. We had 18-1, 12-1, 2-1 WINNERS and a 50-1 and 11-1 PLACE EW advised, that was excellent permed up, well done to everyone..........talking of tipsters none better than Jane Mangan her tips on the Nick Luck daily podcast are incredible, each Thursday Jane is dynamite at marking your card.
