17th January 2024 Ambassador Caroline Bailey with members of the BDR syndicate
Billy Boi Blue wins for Jonathan Burke, David Killahena & Graeme McPherson at Hereford on Monday. A power packed performance on a track that wouldn't be anywhere near ideal for this long striding son of Blue Bresil. Although a 7yo this lightly raced gelding is still learning and actually ran a bit green…..progressive and exciting for his owners and the supporters of the syndicate, we really are one team.
The weekend started early and ended late with bookends of winners, on Friday at Huntingdon we got our first winner of the weekend for new (to BDR) trainer Olly Murphy, Olly with just the 55 winners so far this season is boasting an incredibly high win % so no surprise to see BITSNBUCKLES win in a 2m 3f Conditional Handicap Hurdle with the cool youngster Dylan Johnson. BnB is related some very smart staying Hurdlers and Chasers.
Dylan loved the feel of this 6 yo gelding, visually you could see how well he jumps and our winning jockey reported how babyish he still is and just keeps learning his trade, BnB wouldn't have been suited by the track nor the trip and the biggest cliche in racing so forgive me 'anything he does this year is a bonus' as he was purchased by Caroline & Gerald Bailey to be a 3m staying chaser and we can just take our time with him as he can be a flag carrier with Billy too for the colours.
These are good times for the colours and it is no fluke with Caroline Bailey's massive experience taking our energetic group to another level.
The syndicate was initially formed after having no home as Mark Ball retired from his Letsliveracing business, Mark stuck by us and helped me learn and understand the job, with a chum in Stewart Dudwell we bought MY CHARITY which won and was placed in season one, Marshall & Patsy Barnett became our first owners/members and remain stalwart supporters and friends. Stewart remains a great chum too but decided my enthusiasm (for buying horses) was to great and came out to concentrate on his business. Nor would we be here without Graeme McPherson who has always been extremely generous. As group we stand at over 100 members on our data system that are with us or recently have been, many owners have shares over multiple horses, Their support is very much appreciated.

After the excitement of Friday some members of the syndicate and the Fakenham Race Club had a morning with Ben and Sarah Case, we enjoyed great views and and watched some work in the winter sunshine, these days are to me the gem of being involved, followed by a super breakfast.
It was a cold day at Edgcote but the same can not be said for Ben and Sarah Case, friendly and welcoming a joy to be with. You wouldn't go wrong being involved with this successful Banbury based yard
Ben Case Racing 5 stars
After we left Ben we headed to pre trainer Hannah Lewis in Upton upon Severn, here we have 3 horses a new weanling foal by Order of st George out of Josie Abbing a former BDR winner and own family to Bellshill, Tolworth placed Rathill and Vegas Blue. Purchased off of Frank Motherway in Ireland the successful breeder at Yellowford Stud.
George above one off up front fee of £1950 for 10% and 12 months all in, ONE share remains....I hope you will join this extremely well bred colt, let's watch the sire take off as his crops come through, already a winning sire with the 3 yo MIGHTY BANDIT in Ireland. Viewing welcomed.
Boy George would be a slow burner and clearly not all horses work out but it is also one life and the craic is always good with the members and the social side.
Please join us in a share in a Wings of Eagles 4yo that can run this year..........In fact I think this will be our next Billy Boi Blue, he was purchased at a store by David Killahena and is some boy I can tell you....
Join Caroline Bailey, very successful former trainer who had winners on all the big days over Britain and Ireland. Now retired and leading our enthusiastic group. Caroline whose family are steeped in racing was the first lady jockey to win at Cheltenham, her Father won the Grand National on Grittar and now heads the English PtP team. Caroline is our biggest winner to date in heading the team.
