Excitement Builds for the 2023/23 Winter Season

BDRsyndicates Hillfinch at her new home with trainer Stuart Edmunds they have moved to Croft Farm, Stewkley, Bedfordshire. The most forward of all our horses I think she can add to her impressive stats (3 x winner & black type) for her loyal and friendly owners.

Hello to everyone and we hope this finds you well, certainly in the ranks of the colours and members we have been in rude health, just like our band of equine friends, We really have summered well a trip to Ireland (racing/stud visit) & the highlight seeing former multiple syndicate winning mare Josie Abbing at her stud in co. Cork, Eire with breeder and I like to think friend of the syndicate Frank Motherway at his yellowford stud home.

What a treat it was with the Motherway family, you couldn't spend time with any nicer people, Frank and his wife Liz and the whole family mucking in together. We really enjoyed the afternoon.

Josie has a 4 month old colt by Order of St George, she was in a field with her mother Bella Venezia who has another foal. Very good family closely related to Bellshill. Bella Venezia has produced 3 runners 3 winners.

Josie Abbing & her Mother Bella Venezia with their foals following.

Josie & her colt by Order of St. George will be interesting to see how the sire goes in the future. We were very grateful to Frank and his family for having us all, we were made most welcome. Thank you to Frank, his wife Liz (who made the best rhubarb crumble ever) and their son Colin who showed us his yard close by and helped organise the day.

All the syndicate horses are back now in full work, Thanks to Fleur Hawes who has many of them back this summer in south Norfolk. Hannah Lewis too is a star she has a pre trianing yard in Worcester and had Billy Boi Blue and kicked on with a 2 yo by Ulysees out of a Sea the Stars mare.

For the Love of Beauty, 2 yo by Ulysees out of a Sea the Stars mare.

This filly was purchased off of JD Moore last January, she was broken in by himself & summered at Blythe Stud, then she did some pre training with Hannah.

Beauty has done nothing but grow and thrive for her work, a filly that is clean winded, uncomplicated and is doing all that is asked of her easily, she'd be for Sale if their is a group who would like her? She can run in the name and colours of BDR or if you wish to choose your own silks that is fine too, We can still run her through the business in your name then brackets at the bottom (BDR syndicate) Thus claiming your VAT back, being covered for Public Liability Ins & benefiting from the umbrella of savings from a big group. Contact me if interested. Colin 07780 607976

Most recently (Sat 16th September) members from the BDR & FRC syndicates enjoyed a super morning with Stuart Edmunds Racing at his new purpose built yard, Another excellent welcome......The yard boasts a schooling all weather circle, a deep sand loop & carpet gallop, everything you need is there for your horse, BDR has 2 with Stuart currently Hillfinch & Shiyrvann, both multiple winners and they are coming on really well.

Fakenham Race Club has Allo Allo with Stuart and another with Ben Case, Pollywiggle Quay is an un-raced 4yo filly. They offer 2 horses leased and share 80% of the total prize money, although aimed for the Annual Membership as priority of runners race at the home track  (they have a few spaces available) £505 gets you a share for the season, you'll enjoy great communication via The Racing Manager, plus many more benefits, The club has a winner in Wales (Bangor on Dee) a 2nd place (just beat) at Carlisle and a runner at Ascot ( which fell when going well) it's a successful, friendly and transparent club under written by the track, I help out and do some organising in the back ground with clerk David Hunter and the wider racecourse family. Join us by getting in touch with Colin 07780 607976 or colin@fakenhamracecourse.co.uk

September is prime time for Stable Visits with the owners, Last we were with Stuart Edmunds and we have 2 mornings in the near future with BDR trainer Olly Murphy & Noel Williams. If you join a syndicate I really recommend taking the opportunity to attend, a few snippets for the season ahead and a chance to meet the staff who work so hard behind the scenes, and of course come see your horse.

Our Champs Elysees filly at Churn Stables, Oxfordshire. Under the care of trainer Noel Williams, all is well with her, an exciting very well bred & well balanced horse. She is fully syndicated by some shrewd members.

Remember Annie Day winning in style at Fontwell last November.... she is back cantering and has had the treadmill water treatment building her up behind. Annie is lightly raced, unexposed and a mare tht goes well fresh, I have some spots in her for a short term lease and she will run all being well in October........get in touch for more info she can win again.

Annie Day winning last season. Update 27-09-23 Annie is nearly fully syndicated.

David Kilahena now in partnership with Graeme McPherson is really happy with the 3 we have there, Billy Boi Blue will go Novice Hurdling and looks a very exciting prospect, he jumps a fence even better though.

Caroline Bailey the Ambassador to the syndicate and with her husband Gerald there is not much they haven't done or seen in National Hunt racing, we feel privileged to call them our friends and are very grateful for their guidance.

2023/24 season proper is close and it is not too late for you to join the winning team.
