                                                              Wings of Eagles x Driftaway

Hope everyone is doing well.  We have been busy in the ring and are delighted to present a new 3 year old to go with Graeme McPherson & David Killahena, many of you will know Dave as he currently looks after the horses at Martins Hill the home of Graeme, Dave who did his training with the other O'Brien (Aiden) and then took on another yard for Fergal in partnership with Graeme, Everything changes and we will be going back to the future with the return of McPherson Racing plus David who will take a joint license out by late summer 2023. Graeme has been a lucky trainer for the colours with many winners over multiple horses.

THE SIRE

This unnamed 3 year old Gelding by 2017 Derby Winner Wings of Eagles (Aiden O'Brien trained) is a new sire and stock is on the rise, with listed winners coming from his first crop on the flat already.  He too has scored over jumps is a sire certainly worth following. The next Blue Bresil perhaps?

The Dam

Driftaway is unraced, that is no negative and often the plan with breeders, Driftaway's first produce OCEAN DRIFTER (127 rated) is a point winner and twice winning under rules in 10 starts being placed a further 5 times, sold to Oliver Sherwood for 100k as a 4 year old. There is a 2nd & 3rd produce unraced to date  (named so you'd think they will run soon enough) we have the 4th and there is a 2 yo & foal.

Stores can represent great value, there has been loads of work gone into finding this gelding, Our 4 objectives were, Value, a Forward type & Good Confirmation & a page that has loads of potential, all ticks so we bought him.

The Plan

Our gelding will be broken & then trained on, he'll have a break when he needs to and steadily built up with a plan to run in the autumn/winter next year.  Viewing is highly recommended and easily arranged.

TERMS

BDR will syndicate in 10 x 10% shares,  Greame McPherson is taking a share, actually requesting one,  so will BDR signatories Colin & Zoe Burr.
10% will be just £2495 (No Vat) this will include, Initial cost, Goffs Commissions, Transport & Breaking in plus training costs until AUGUST 1st 2023 (then £199 per month until racecourse debut then inline with current payment plans) plus 10 million Public Liability Cover with Lycetts for piece of mind.

With David Kilaheena and the regular faces you will know at Martins Hill I am really looking forward to the community of owners we had back in the McPherson Racing days, the emphasis will very much be welcoming, fun and interaction with you all. The owners are lifeblood to the sport and this yard. David is gifted with horses and loves how this lad moves, it is my pick in a store, I like how this page could take off this coming season as we did with BDR's Billy Boi Blue, the boys in the second dam are all multiple winners either rules one PtP, I think to with stronger sires from the second produce (in my opinion) the families best success stories are yet to be written,  you have all supported my yard for many years and never once have we had a problem, no one in racing gets everything right but fundamentally together we have been lucky, I shall be having a share and hope you'll join me in being a co-owner'

BDR View,

We all know that horse ownership is a crazy game, we feel the highs and lows as a team, considering the small budgets we have gone to the track with I think we have punched far above our weight, This horse was bought at a sensible price, there is genuine optimism that he will not be a backward store and that his confirmation is good and he is without fail a great mover. The dam has produced a first foal winner from a not so strong sire (Aizavoski) , with some bigger named sires covering her the family could prove a serious hit on the race track.

Kind Regards
