Hillfinch heads to Huntingdon

                                                                                        Billy Boi Blue

Happy New Year from us all at BDRsyndicates, Although no runners since Ajay's Ways on the 17th December there has still been much going on for the owners to enjoy behind the scenes, with yard visits and communications plus videos of their horses on the gallops there has been plenty to get stuck into.

Our 3 winter horses are Hillfinch (runs tomorrow Friday 14th 3:00 Huntingdon) Ajay's Ways (likely runner Fakenham Monday 17th) and Baby Ben possibly Doncaster end of the month.....are all reported well and ready to roll the dice once more.

Although no BDR runners I have been racing plenty with a great trip on New Years Day to the fine Norfolk track Fakenham, A superb crowd attended and it was a lovely mild occasion. Boosted to see in house trainer Stuart Edmunds strike with  HERE COMES HENRY a from the back ride with Jack Tudor on board

Joined by a few BDR owners it made for a great day with some new friends made.  Brilliant!

Furthermore I took BDR owner Roy Clarke to Southwell on the Bank Holiday Monday and then to Sandown last Saturday to see his own horse.

It was great to be there to see CONSTITUTION  HILL who was very impressive. Although I have to say I particularly enjoyed watching MARTELLO SKY of Lucy Wadham win again. This mare has won 8/12 out of Kentucky Sky which was a mare owned by a local man (to Norfolk) Tim Wood who sadly is no longer with us.

Billy Boi Blue (BDR horse above photo) is the next one from Kentucky Sky so lets hope he shares the family traits as his half sister, and the family line doesn't end there with a half brother of Brief Ambition 2/2 over fences this term. Billy Boi Blue shares the same sire (Blue Bresil) with CONSTITUTION HILL, and hopefully Billy will debut very soon in a bumper. Exciting.

With another unraced horse ready for a spring debut Doc El now back in the yard at Martins Hill we have loads to look forward to.

Hillfinch with black type after her 3rd (last run) heads back to Huntingdon for a 2 mile 4 & 1/2 furlong Mares Novices Hurdle race. The going is soft this BDR mare faces 7 opponents and the owners and I are hopeful of a good run,  she schools well and goes tomorrow fresh after 40 days off.  Ciaran Gethings rides. The yard are going well so that is a plus.

From our mares last run the form has worked out well with the 6th/7th/10th all winning next time...... Stuart Edmunds has been a great asset to our ranks of trainers.

Good Luck to all involved.

Ajay's Ways will go chasing and that will most likely be in a 2 mile 5 furlong Novice Handicap Chase. AJ has schooled well and I think we can excuse his last run on tacky holding ground, Lets hope he goes well. Prize money is good for the grade. Be great to support Fakenham.

Looking forward to the seeing many of the team over the coming days.
