Calum Gilhooley with with Kielan Woods and Gwyn Wigley
Smashing effort again at Newton Abbot as course specialist Calum Gilhooley on Tuesday 8th September WINS again, Calum shouldering a 6 lb penalty was out paced early on as this wouldn't be his optimum trip however with the penalty a shorter trip made sense, trading 10-1 in running it was quite a ride from the cool Kielan Woods to get this horse moving around the home turn and final straight, picking off his rivals he absolutely winged the last to win going away.
Loads to look forward to with form figures this year of 2-1-1 he has already proved hugely exciting and we feel there is more to come. Well done to Graeme McPherson who is banging in the winners for our owners and most of all Calum Gilhooley, great will to win, this horse tries for you and that is half the battle in racing.
Our owners received a video message from Kielan talking through the race, nice touch for them which brings the involvement closer, well done to Athlone man (Meath Eire) Kielan Woods. Super fella.
Annie Day got a knock in the box and was frustratingly pulled out last Sunday, understandably Christain didn't want to rush her as she is held in high regard, the vet will assess however Christain reports she seems as sound as a bell.
Positives on Roseriver Has, Josie Abbing too, we are told Roseriver is working well and has a nice coat and a twinkle in his eye, great news! Josie is also as fresh as paint and will wear a nose band to keep her focused next time which could be Fontwell Saturday or the following week Warwick.
Plenty more ammunition to come, with a couple of nice stores and Baby Ben to debut and Ajay's Ways we hope to keep the upwards momentum going.
Thanks for reading
