WINNER Cheers Calum!

Winner! Smashing performance at Newton Abbot where Calum Gilhooley obliged in quite impressive style, this was a lovely trainer placement with Templepark having a double penalty and he was the main danger and a stone in weight proved to much in the end, Calum did it a shade cosy quite posibly considering he got a little boxed in jumped the road which threw him a little and to put the cherry on the performance the saddle slipped. Well done Kielan for staying on.

Kielan reported he had no fear from the last bend that he would win and he gave our lad a smashing ride, no doubt about it he is riding well and long may the success continue for both trainer and jockey. Graeme McPherson has his string in blistering form they are winning all over the place. Well done to Graeme and his team. I bet the yard is a happy place at the minute as I write Andaleep who lost his last race in the stewards room just sloshed up at Sandown.

Some drive to Newton Abbot and I must admit I was fairly nervous watching the race,  a slow early pace made for a odd race Calum jumped better once they quickened, the fractional timings made it 111% . A fractional of higher than 100 % indicates that at the closing stages of the race were quicker than the average speed during the race, the reverse applies if lower than 100% I don't bet but I was told Calum traded at 8-1 in running, in front they picked the pace up and in a slow run race its said the closer to the front the better and we were a few lengths down so for Calum to match, make and pass the two market leaders was very impressive. Our trainer reports him fine today (Sat 22nd) and  he ate up. Calum will be accessed and plans made from there.

Doc El looks SOLD out, the contracts will go out tomorrow. really good news with him. delighted that he has proved so popular. Annie Day is pleasing Christian at home and really coming along now, we will be very interested to hear the plans for her. Great moving mare. Excited about her certainly.

Roseriver Has is fine he is close to a entry so let the games commence we have got a early one on the board.

Thanks for reading also well done Newton Abbot- a free bar great food and lovely viewing experience.
