Kielan reported he had no fear from the last bend that he would win and he gave our lad a smashing ride, no doubt about it he is riding well and long may the success continue for both trainer and jockey. Some drive to Newton Abbot and I must admit I was fairly nervous watching the race, a slow early pace made for a odd race Calum jumped better once they quickened, the fractional timings made it 111% . A fractional of higher than 100 % indicates that at the closing stages of the race were quicker than the average speed during the race, the reverse applies if lower than 100% I don't bet but I was told Calum traded at 8-1 in running, in front they picked the pace up and in a slow run race its said the closer to the front the better and we were a few lengths down so for Calum to match, make and pass the two market leaders was very impressive. Our trainer reports him fine today (Sat 22nd) and he ate up. Calum will be accessed and plans made from there.
