Horses head for summer break

                                                                      Annie Day holidaying in Norfolk

Our horses are being roughed off for the season in the main now, Annie Day has been home for a month and as you can see above she looks great, some of the team will be staying at one of our owners farms, Fleur is a former winning trainer and jockey so the horses are in great hands as well as enjoying fresh surroundings and some nice grass it all seems lovely there, its also in the next village from me so its great to pop in and say hello.

Our owners to hopefully will be coming over to see their horses and join me for some breakfast or lunch, we are the friendly syndicate not for financial gain with any fat made ploughed back in to the colours.

This season we had 2 winners, 2 seconds and several competitive 3rd and 4th, from the 6 horses we had in training, tiny bit below expectations but some of our horses like Baby Ben are young and only had 2 runs for example.

Roseriver Has for Christian Williams will be retired, shame he ran a great race at Newton Abbot in October in a bid field was swinging at 100-1 too, then well documented by the trainer a few of his horses weren't quite right and although most came through it seems its left a mark on Roseriver, perhaps. Christian says the kindest thing is to find the horse a good home (horse to stay with the trainer by request) The welfare of our horses is paramount end of.

Josie Abbing left Christain to go to Graeme McPherson and had one run where she showed much improvement. sometimes in whichever direction of travel horses like a change and it can spark them up, especially with mares. Josie will run through the summer.

Our star Calum Gilhooley is ready to run again soon, Our trainer reports him well and he will have a spin on grass to further help him be match fit. loads to look forward to there. Can't wait!!

They will be our sole summer runners this term.

Ajay's Ways certainly was good to get him going after missing a year, and all good there a season where he showed plenty of promise maybe his last run he was over the top a little, travelled like the best horse in the race then didn't find, was the first time at 3 miles so maybe he didn't get the trip. He will be grand and I look forward to him over a fence.

Our 2 stores Doc El & Billy Boi Blue have come on well, they should be ready to go in the autumn, store horses are not for every owner as you need buckets of patients, however buying unbroken horses is far cheaper out lay and no one knows the horses ability, you bu on looks and pedigree, So there is always a chance of pinhooking one if you are lucky.

Goff's store sale is on May 17th and 18th of May I have been looking through the books, may well get one speaking with someone who knows far more than me it was reported pointers are being valued high but stores will be really good value. If you are interested in a store either a share your own syndicate with a group of friends let me know, we can help.

Hope everyone is well and thanks for reading
