JOSIE ABBING to get the team started for another season

Josie Abbing our 6yr old bay mare lines up with 11 opponents tomorrow (July 1st) at 1.40 at Southwell, It will be great to see her in action again she was indeed our last runner before the shut down and here she goes again for the curtain opener.

Its a 0-105 handicap hurdle over 2m 4f it will be only her second time at this trip, she apparently schooled really well so although she will come on for the run I hope she puts her best foot forward and we get off to a positive start with her, she is a mare we all like very much. The handicap is very compressed over just 4 lb, one or two in the field are handicap debutantes or just there second run in this sphere.

Josie isn't a very mare big but she is quite a gutsy one, we will be represented by a good owner and friend Ian Tagg who many in the team including myself have co owned horses with before it will be quite a different experience for all the owners attending the trial day and it has been widely criticised with several hoops to jump through and limited time on the track however its a start so lets hope that things improve further.

The BHA seemed to make a odd decision allowing Leicester races to go ahead, reading online our in house trainer Graeme McPherson seemed to make some valid points in why he withdrew his horse, as did many other trainers. lets hope for the sanity of the area the spike there can be reduced with a 14 day lockdown.

We should hear soon how Roseriver Has and Annie Day are doing Ajay's Ways and our unnamed 4yr old were brought back into the McPherson yard on Monday, I believe they will go on the walker and then do some hacking, its great that the teams string are starting to get back into the yard and BDR and our owners have some real nice ammunition this season. Keep well and thanks for reading.
